All of our suits are made of the highest quality natural and/or manufactured fibers. We would like to explain a little about the different fabrics used in our suits.

CASHMERE WOOL

Cashmere wool is wool obtained from the Cashmir goat. The name derives from an archaic spelling of Kashmir. Cashmere is characterized as luxuriously soft, with high napability and loft. It is noted as providing natural light-weight insulation without bulk. Cashmere is extremely warm (in order to serve its original purpose of protecting goats from cold mountain temperatures). Fibers are highly adaptable and are easily constructed into fine or thick yarns, and light to heavy-weight fabrics. Appropriate for all climates, a high moisture content allows insulation properties to change with the relative humidity in the air. Cashmere is an extremely rare fiber and is available in limited supply.

WOOL

Wool is also a natural animal fiber made from the fleece of sheep. Wool’s characteristics are comfortable, luxurious, soft to the hand, and versatile. Wool is lightweight and a good insulator. Wool is wrinkle-resistant and absorbent, thus easy to dye, however most wool is dry clean only.

MICROFIBERS

Microfiber is a manufactured fiber that comes in rayon, nylon, polyester and acrylic. It is ultra fine, finer than the most delicate silk. Microfibers can be woven so tight that the fabric cannot be penetrated by wind, rain or cold. They allow perspiration to pass through the fabric and are comfortable in contact with skin.

POLYESTER

Polyester is resistant to shrinking and stretching. It is strong and soft to the touch. It can be dry-cleaned or washed and is wrinkle resistant and resilient. When polyester is blended with other dry-clean only fibers like wool or rayon, the durability of the blended fabric improves.

RAYON

Rayon is a manufactured fiber that is soft and comfortable, drapes well and is highly absorbent. It is a dry-clean only fabric.
